環境

Debian Sid & Xfce4

Install and Initial Configure

Package install

# basic packages
sudo apt-get install xmonad libghc-xmonad-dev libghc-xmonad-contrib-dev
# for adding launcher
sudo apt-get install dmenu
# for status bar
sudo apt-get install xmobar
# tools
sudo apt-get install suckless-tools scrot tilda trayer

Xsession

1. add /usr/share/xsessions/custom.desktop

   [Desktop Entry]
   Name=Xsession
   Exec=/etc/X11/Xsession
   

2. ${HOME}/.xsession

   xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap
   exec xmonad
   

Edit config

import XMonad

main = do
xmonad $ defaultConfig

Set xmonad as the default window manager

$ sudo update-alternatives --config x-window-manager

デフォルトのキーボードショートカットは、man xmonadで見ることができる。
とりあえず、Alt + Shift + pを覚えておけば、ターミナルは起動できるので、困らないはず。

設定のためのTIPS

1. xmonadの設定ファイルを書き換えたので反映させたい
   • mod-q で反映される(restart)
   • xmonad --recompileで構文チェックできる

2. ショートカットを設定するときのクラス名を知りたい

   • xprop というコマンドが役立つ

     xprop | grep WM_CLASS

3. vmware環境でウインドウサイズの変更に追従してくれない

   vmware-user-suid-wrapper
